First Solid Food

I made pureed carrots for Sean today. He is one week away from 6 months and not interested in food at all. I don't know if there is a trick to it (if there is share), but here is the documentation of my effort.Despite the fact that Sean is smiling in most of these pictures, he really wasn't happy with me.
Thanks Auntie Sarah for the recipes!!!

Has he had rice cereal yet? He might take it better if it's mostly breastmilk and just a little rice cereal, and then thicken it a little each time. Once he's used to that texture he might take things like carrots better. Or he might just be a picky eater. Lucky you :) And good for you for making it yourself! I tried once or twice but actually the kids liked Gerber better than my homemade stuff so I gave up.

My kids preferred the gerber or beachnut brand of baby food over the homemade stuff I tried making for them. I am impressed with you for making the homemade baby food! It may take a few times for Sean to get used to the idea of solids, but he will get the hang of it. I skipped the rice cereal thing with Hailee. That is one thing she refused. Cute pictures of Sean by the way. I still think he looks just like you:) Hey do you think my theory is correct:) hahahaha

I always wanted to make the kids' baby food but never ended up doing so. I think it is awesome that you made carrots. They both had the Gerbers. I don't know what the trick is. I think it just takes time. Have you tried other veggies or even fruits?

He is so cute!

AWWW! So sweet!!! I love it! Don't worry, he will get the hang of it soon enough and then you will get sick of having to pack baby food around with you everywhere :)

I thought you weren't going to be all organic and what not. Over achiever :) Cute Pics! It just takes a while for them to get use to it.

They say it can take up to ten tries before a baby likes something, so just keep it up. Also erica never really liked baby food that much but always wanted what we were eating. (she's a little pig)

What a good mom you are! I love these pictures, he is so adorable! Good luck I'm sure he will be loving it soon and then he might even weigh 21 pounds at his nine month appointment!(Dresden is my little chunk) :)
